Organising photos can feel heavier than expected

Sometimes organising your photos, or even thinking about them, can feel difficult. You might know what to do to start organising your photos, but still find yourself procrastinating, unable to begin.

Photos can touch our memories in ways that shape how we see ourselves, while also stirring feelings tied to the people, relationships, and moments that matter. Emotions can be stirred that have been resting just beneath the surface, making it difficult to continue organising your photos.

A one-to-one session together can offer a calm, understanding space to help you move forward in a way that feels possible.

Who this session is for

This session may be helpful if:
• You feel emotionally stuck while organising your photos
• Organising brings up grief, regret, responsibility, or unfinished feelings
• You find yourself procrastinating and don’t understand why
• You notice fogginess, irritability, urgency, or shutdown
• You want emotional support while organising your photos

What we might explore together

In this 60-minute Zoom session, we might gently explore:

• What you’ve been noticing when organising feels hard
• Some ways to move through procrastination
• How emotions from your photos may be affecting your capacity to continue
• Where your nervous system may need more support
• Small, steady ways to continue with your photos

This session offers educational and emotional support connected to photo organising. It is not a therapeutic counselling session and there is nothing you need to do to prepare before we meet.

If you would like counselling support beyond your photo project, you’re welcome to explore further sessions through Counselling Memories, after our initial session together.

My Approach

I began my career working directly with clients in their homes, helping them organise and preserve printed and digital photos. Through years of client work, I developed a deep understanding of both the practical side of organising and the human side. Now, as a registered counsellor, I support clients with the emotional side of photo organising.

This session brings together the two worlds of photo organising and counselling.
It is:
• Gentle and trauma-informed
• Non-judging and non-pathologising
• Focused on understanding
• Grounded in choice and capacity

At the heart of this work, I want you to feel supported enough to move forward, so
you can care for your photos in a way that feels meaningful and right for you.
